Microsoft launched the Surface 3 fitted with Windows 8.1 and some beefy specs. It is the first of the original Surface lineup to not run Windows RT, to the applause of most Microsoft fans.

Having full Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 can be upgraded when it launches. Should be a big seller for customers worried about the full desktop experience. The only worry now is hefty professional applications and video games will not run well, but at least there is the option.

To lower the costs to $499, Microsoft has decreased the screen size and resolution to 10.8-inch, 1920 x 1080 display as compared to the Surface pro 3. The Surface 3 also runs on Intel Atom, a low grade processor that has started seeing some adoption on mobile.

PC applications will not run on the Surface 3. There should be enough power to run most of the common apps and more than enough for web browsing.

Office applications will not come pre-installed. A small price to pay for having a wider selection of PC applications readily available, instead of being locked away because the platform won’t allow them to be downloaded.

Google now let you to run Android apps on your Chrome browser in your Computer with a tool called App Runtime of Chrome                                                                                                                   (ARC) Welder. It is a project which allows Android apps to run on                                                                                                         Chrome OS.

Some time before this tool was only available for developers who got to collaborate with Google to do so. But now Google Officially launch its full version for Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS which will allow you to run Android Apps on your Desktop. The all you need is just add APK files of application which your want to run on your PC. I also  run WhatsApp on my PC with this tool and it works perfectly.

ARC-Welder

However, ARC isn’t run all Google Play Services, like Google+ etc and some apps that require missing services like in-app purchasing will fail to run or crash. Hopefully Google will add these in the near future to enable more apps to run on various desktop platforms.

HP Sprout-14

The all-in-one desktop PC has an integrated 3D scanner that can digitize physical objects and a projector with a 20-inch touch-sensitive mat. The 3D scanner uses Intel’s RealSense 3D capture, which combines the images from multiple cameras to construct its 3D models; it can also capture 14 megapixel 2D images. Both the 3D scanner and the projector point at the touch mat, creating a workspace enabling the “physical” manipulation of digital objects.

HP is calling this fusion of digital and physical “blended reality.” Sprout, which HP styles as an “immersive computer,” is one part of that, bringing physical objects into the digital world. HP also has eyes on the other half of the story: putting digital objects into the physical world with 3D printers.

LAS VEGAS — The new Mac Pro might be the beginning of a reinvention in desktop PC design, but Razer wants a say in it, too.

At CES 2014, PC gaming company Razer, always known to make splashes with unique design concepts, unveiled Project Christine on the show floor. It’s a prototype mock-up for the future of modular PCs, and it’s a high-end gaming rig that will plug and play all sorts of modules.

Project-Christine

Razer has never made a desktop PC before, and only recently made PCs at all: the Razer Blade and Razer Edge were its first products, both showing a lot of design prowess. The design for Project Christine tops all that: what’s on the show floor here in Las Vegas is little more than a metal chassis mock-up, but the design is incredibly cool to behold: a central rack holds plug-in parts that sprout from the sides, building a tower in any combination. It looks simultaneously far-futuristic and a bit steampunk.

Gaming Pc - Razer Debuts Project Christine-n2g-5

Making that all work with be a tall order, but Razer has a history of following through on its promises: Project Fiona, shown off a few years ago, eventually became the very real Razer Edge gaming tablet. It’s a smart design, and one of the best-looking things I’ve seen at this year’s CES. For more, check out Razer’s Web site.
